We are always seeking high quality transcription firms and transcribers in business for themselves. Agencies holding Immigration, Social Security and Veteran Affairs contracts appear to always be in overload. Those companies holding State and Federal court contracts are very busy at this time.

Some of this work does require a security clearance.  There is no charge for this and it is all handled by the individual client, not through us.

Our company has no employees and all contracts are business-to-business. Since you are in business for yourself you would, of course be responsible for your own taxes and would not be eligible for unemployment benefits or Workmen's Compensation Insurance.

It is understood that as a business, you would be contracting with multiple companies as desired.

We do not provide technical assistance, training, software or other support.

Transcribers for Immigration and Social Security accounts will need to get a security clearance.  There will be no charge for this.  However, it will require a full background check and being fingerprinted.

We do not withhold taxes for independent contractors. Similarly, as an IC, you are not eligible for unemployment benefits or Workmen’s Compensation Insurance.

We cannot provide any technical assistance, training, software, or other support.

Compensation

All rates are set by the client.  You may accept or decline at will. Generally pay for legal works ranges between 1.50 to 2.00 double spaced page.

Client holding contract for Senate and House generally pay by the audio minute. The rate varies.

Scheduling

A major perk of this work is its flexibility. As an independent contractor, you accept jobs when you want to. However, this is what you can expect in terms of work availability:

Most work comes in during the day Monday thru Friday. Political hearings (House and Senate) requires same-day turnaround. Legal generally has a 2-10 day turnaround. .

Pay per audio minutes is determined by how many minutes of audio you transcribe. Pay per page is determined on how many finished pages you have transcribed. Pay is NOT based on how long it takes you to complete the work.
